NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reported on Tuesday night that Hank Baskett, who was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier that day, that Hank will join the Minnesota Vikings' receiving corps. Hank has 76 career receptions for 1,080 yards and 6 touchdowns in his 5th NFL season, mostly with the Eagles.
Since recording 33 catches for 440 yards in 2008, Hank has 5 receptions between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts. But he has stretch-the-field ability, recording touchdown catches of 89 and 90 yards with the Eagles.
Hank returns to the team where he got his start. He signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent in 2006, then he went to the Eagles, where he started 5 games as a rookie.
The Vikings have until 3 PM Wednesday to swing a trade for Vincent Jackson, the embattled Chargers receiver who will miss the season's first 4 games after violating NFL's substance abuse policy. But the signing of Baskett could be the Vikings' way of bowing out the Jackson sweepstakes.
HANK WILL JOIN THE VIKINGS!
