Dear Friends,
The Rally for Kids with Cancer Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children throughout Miami.

I will be participating in the Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup on Saturday, November 13. By pledging me for this event you are supporting children's cancer research from diagnosis and treatment, to conducting research and finding promising new therapies at Jackson Memorial Foundation, IKF's Wonderfund and Holtz Children's Hospital.
I hope you'll sponsor me in this very worthwhile cause. Your generous donation will go towards helping kids with cancer beat the disease so they can live active, full lives.

BRIDGET - HALLOWEEN TIPS

Bridget Marquardt shared some tips for throwing the best Halloween Party, yesterday on her website!

“I get asked all the time for tips on decorating, costume advice and themes for parties.  Since I can’t address each party individually, I thought it would be fun to pick a theme each month and start sharing my top 10 tips and “secrets” to throwing an event.  As I was sitting in front of the computer beginning to plan my own annual pumpkin carving party, it dawned on me, I should start here!  I could write a blog about the top 10 things you should do to throw an awesome Pumpkin Carving party.  Once I started writing the ideas just started flowing! So, here it is, I hope you enjoy it, I hope it inspires you and mostly I hope you have the best Halloween Holiday ever, with or without a pumpkin carving party!”
“Each month I’m will blog with my top 10 tips for throwing an event.  I would love to see pictures from your events!  So, If you use my tips and throw and throw an amazing party, I would love to see your photos!  Also, if you have unique ideas that aren’t already mentioned please let us know!  I want this to be a sharing, learning and inspiring blog!  Let’s be creative together! My pumpkin carving party is on Oct. 28th this year and I will be posting pictures so don’t forget to check back in!”

Pumpkin Carving Party!
One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to throw a pumpkin carving party!  It’s not just for kids—a pumpkin carving party can be a lot of fun for adults too and can really put you in the mood for the Halloween Holiday.  I always do an all-girls party. We have cocktails, eat snacks and lots of desserts and, after we are all done carving pumpkins, we get cozy with blankets and pillows on the floor and watch a scary movie and eat our freshly toasted pumpkin seeds!
Here are my top 10 tips for having a rad Pumpkin Carving Party:
  1. Guest List and Invitations
When hosting a pumpkin carving party, strive to keep your guest list relatively small.  I usually invite 10-15 girls, and I feel that is even a large group for this type of event.  Pumpkins are pretty pricey, and carving takes up quite a bit of room.  Plus, you want to invite people that are good sports and will actually enjoy the experience.
Invitations set the mood and tone for any event.  They are very important.  But, don’t get me wrong; that does not mean you have to fork out a fortune in custom-printed invitations, spend weeks collecting addresses and spend another fortune in postage.  Although I LOVE getting an actual hard copy, unique and creative invitation in the mail, I feel the most practical way is through e-vites.  It is the least expensive, usually free,  and it is easy for you to keep track of RSVP’s and for people to respond.
  1. Costumes
Make it a costume party! Of course I love costumes, so anytime I can dress up, I will!  They don’t have to be elaborate costumes; in fact cheap, fun costumes are even better because pumpkin carving can be messy.
Don’t want to get all dressed up?  How about themed Halloween socks, crazy wigs or maybe even hats?  Dressing up, even just your socks, can inspire people to feel creative, let loose and have more fun at your event.  Plus it is great for conversation!
  1. Decorations
Of course decorations are a must!  And the more the better. But, don’t panic—if you don’t have a lot of Halloween Decorations lying around and don’t have the funds to go out and buy a bunch, don’t worry! Black plastic over the tables, battery operated candles and draped, ripped-up netting can be enough.
Don’t feel like you need to tackle your whole house or apartment.  Pick one room to have the party in: dining room, kitchen, living room, etc.,  and put all your focus, time, budget and energy into making that one area transformed.   When you’re done with that room, if you find that you have extra money or decorations, decorating other areas such as your entryway or a guest bathroom is always fun and appreciated.
  1. Creepy themed food
I love this part!   There are so many amazing recipes for creepy-looking food that looks awful but tastes amazing.  If you love cooking or baking here is your chance to be super creative.  There are all kinds of websites and even specialized cookbooks that will give you plenty of ideas.  Depending on your party and budget you can prepare a full creepy meal or just snacks and desserts.
If you don’t have the stomach for gross-looking food you can also take ordinary foods like guacamole and deviled eggs and transform them just by labeling them with gross names.   Or since you are having a pumpkin party, do an all-pumpkin theme…pumpkin soup, pumpkin turnovers, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin-shaped cookies, etc.
  1. Beverages
This is another area that I have a lot of fun with.  There are so many creative things you can do with this. I was researching for some new ideas this year and I found Vampire wine, pumpkin Ale, witch brew beer, pumpkin spice liqueurs and pumpkin pie flavored coffee creamers!

BRIDGET AT PLAYBOY GLP

Here's a pic of Bridget at the Playboy Good Life Party (GLP) Yesterday in Toronto.

BRIDGET: FUTURE OF PLAYBOY

Considering Hef celebrated his 84th birthday this year, Bridget acknowledges that challenges are coming to Playboy. “I know that Cooper, Hef's youngest son, is interested in taking over the busines," Bridget said. "So I think that could be a great revitalization for Playboy if all that goes smoothly".

Bridget is in town to host last night's Playboy Good Life Party at Muzik. Also on her agenda: a trip to the CN Tower, lunch in Yorkville, and a special request to visit the Hockey Hall Of Fame from Nick, her boyfriend of two years.

BRIDGET TALKS OF HER SHOW

Briddget Marquardt reciently did an interview talking about her new show, "Just Add Bridget" which will air on A&E or on Style channels.

Here's the interview:

Interviewer:Why did you want to do another reality show?

Bridget:It was time to start on the next chapter, which was showing people what my life is like outside the Mansion now, and the new thing I am working towards. At first, I was thinking I want to do events. I love being creative, developing things, and creating experiences for people. I thought, maybe I want to do party planning or event consulting. Then, I realized what I want to do is much broader than that. I want to do creative consulting, or a whole line of Halloween costumes. I want to help with charity events, and bring parties to the Mansion and take them to a bigger level. Things like that. We decided to allow a film crew to come in and shoot a pilot on my life outside the Mansion, in my new house with my boyfriend and our pets. We are starting on this new career path.

Interviewer: Where did the idea come from?
Bridget: All kinds of sources. I always knew that [a reality spin-off] was a strong possibility. With the production company that did 'Girls Next Door' and 'Bridget's Sexiest Beaches,' we talked about all of us doing spin-offs eventually. Not that this is a direct spin-off, but it kind of is, because it is a continuation of my life. We always knew it was a possibility once I finished traveling and doing the 'Beaches' show. When I got the house and my boyfriend moved in with me, I told him, 'You know there is a strong possibility we'll be doing a reality show in here, so I hope you're cool with that.' I think he was a little hesitant about it. Now, that we've filmed most of the pilot and seen a first cut of it, I think he feels more at ease with it.

Interviewer: What is it like shooting your personal life with your boyfriend? What does he think?

Bridget: When I was doing 'Girls Next Door,' I used to think okay, this life is already public. So it's not a big deal to make it even more public. But later in life, I want my own private life. I still want to do hosting on TV and stuff, but not a reality show. But, there are so many opportunities with a reality show, and I have so much fun doing it, that I really kind of missed it when it was all over. So I am excited to be doing it. As far as sharing my relationship on camera, it's a little bit different and awkward. But I feel like it's something I can get used to, and he will get used to it as well.
